Samba is a popular musical genre, an explosive mix of African rhythms and Portuguese sensuality. Performed mainly by rhythmic instruments, it has an etymology linked to the African word "Semba" - which meant the "Congadas" ancient dances performed in a circle - we can recognize two forms of Samba: Samba "Enredo" typical carnival and samba "Cançao" more melodic form which later gave the Bossa Nova.
