Le Blues

The "Worksongs" were the first form of musical expression of black slaves on America earth. These songs comming from Africa gave birth, in the last third of the nineteenth century, to the "negro spirituals", which were religious songs, and blues, nostalgic lament, which appeared in the southern US rural black population, probably in the Mississippi delta region. At first only vocal, the blues quickly call on other instruments: guitar, banjo, harmonica ... Alongside the blues, developed in the 20's the Boogie Woogie style, a special way of playing the blues on the piano with a repetitive left hand.
